This piece was inspired by, and a collaboration with the Colours of Arley studio. Their signature stripes merge into the space while the Sardines are glaring and the flowers pop with a glimmering red. I loved the choice of colours, and love how the stems of the flowers in the glass vase merge into the angular dimensions of the stripes. The shimmering of the fish bodies was so exciting to paint. Acrylic on canvas, 1m x 1m30cm.

"There’s a certain intimacy in Lucy Muss’s paintings – a sense of warmth, play and fleeting beauty."
— Freddie's Flowers
"Lucy Muss works instinctively with colour and form, exploring memory, perception and movement through gestural, process-led abstract and figurative works.."
— Lisa Baker | Hackney Art Wekk 2026
"draws inspiration from everyday objects like food, wine, and flowers, exploring themes of space, shape, and color. Nostalgia influences her work, allowing her to pause time and capture fleeting moments."
— Maison Flâneur
